OL Luke Wypler (All B1G, All-American, Cleveland Browns)

If not the dad, this person is probably close to Wypler in some way, so maybe we should pump the brakes on aggressively being dickheads to this individual?

I’d be with you on that, with the exception of how he’s been handling himself with regard to other players.

We ALL want success for ALL of the kids, but his MO thus far has been to take shots at specific kids who are / were in the way of his guy(s). So, while you may be 100% right, it’s also 100% not acceptable to behave like that at BP. Never has and never will be. There’s plenty of forums for that kind of behavior. Wrapping himself in the “I just want the best player on the field” flag after taking digs at players and coaches decisions as to who plays doesn’t cut it.

So, while you are quick to point out that he may be close to Luke and should be treated with kids gloves, I’d also offer that you, as quickly, point out how his behavior thus far may have gotten the reaction he’s receiving.

Lmao

Hope Harry is OK - him and Luke are friends and have pushed each other this Summer
Either way - Day & Company have done a fantastic job with recruiting.

Buckeyes will be fine

Kill all Golfers

Who said?

Hey it's all about having the best players out there - if Harry is not well or has a family member not well - we should all wish him & his family the best. Say a prayer for him.

And Go Buckeyes

Well we're two daze away from Gophers - hope Harry has a great game & the running game kills all the Golfers.

Not hearing good things about Harry's performance today at practice

Let up a sack, fell down & missed blocks - no good - we need him Ga Strong!

Who's the other guy who's knocking on the door?
His first post was a light critique of Miller’s practice performance. Everything since then has been mostly positive as far as I can tell.

It looks to me like your behavior is unwarranted.

Coming at people hard is no bueno, particularly players. That includes talking about how Miller is on the way out like Pope.

Were that true, it's quite private and premature. (It isn't true)

If it's not true, or strictly a possibility, then that's reckless and unfair.

Neither approach is how we do things here.

That includes if it was possible or even probable at one point but not final. The vast majority of players have a time where a transfer is under consideration (like almost every college student, athlete or otherwise). Outing that, or speculating about it, is done many other places. That's not what we do.

Thank you. I found it convenient that post was not included in the multi-quote listed. This is specifically what I was talking about.

Either way, as I said, easier to hit the ignore option than deal…

It’s sad, frankly, as I do suspect the OP is close to Luke and the information he could provide (within bounds) would be interesting. But not interested enough to warrant what I’ve seen from him in this community.

I think it's key to emphasize that most here want both to do well, including if someone transfers. Be it a backup QB who becomes a star, or a good LB who goes home to MD and makes the NFL, or a guy who gets pt at a smaller school where he can continue his education.

Also no one here has any say in their playing time, so it's not like any gut reactions or inaccurate posts impact their playing time. It can impact their (and by extension the families') college experience while sacrificing everything (including grander academic pursuits) for this university. It's a well explained sacrifice (and potentially lucrative ) but a sacrifice it remains.

Yes, I missed that one because the formatting was off (all the words were crammed together) in the summary of the posts through the search function and I couldn’t tell what it was saying.

I feel like comments like those should be moderated and handled through addressing them at the time, and not responding in a negative way to the person in perpetuity after the fact regardless of the contents of the subsequent posts.

My apologies if this makes you feel targeted.

I also think there is a bit of culture shock here from an individual who clearly has New Jersey sensibilities, which can clash with your standard Midwestern sensibilities regardless of the subject matter.

It’s all good man… I don’t mind being kept in check. TBH, it’s one of the things that does keep the norms of this community that we’ve established over the years. But I stand by my statements, nonetheless… while acknowledging that my responses were less than welcoming.

That said, Jersey or not… what JWins shared is a good summary of the core culture. Agree to play by those rules and be a solid contributor to the community or find a place that is a better fit has always been how it goes here.
