February 21, 2011, 12:46 am - Receives an offer from Michigan
Kyle Dodson
6'6", 315 lbs.
Offensive Tackle
Cleveland, Ohio
As I mentioned last night, Dodson received a Michigan offer yesterday. He's a monster offensive lineman reporting other offers from Illinois, Michigan State, NC State, and West Virginia.
[Michigan] was definitely a school I wanted an offer from. Coach Funk was the one that offered me. He said they enjoyed watching my film and I look like a player they want at Michigan. They have a lot of tradition, and even though they haven't been playing that well lately I still have a lot of interest in them. I'm definitely going to try to make it up there for the Junior Day.

Kyle Dodson is one of the best offensive linemen in the state of Ohio for the 2012 recruiting class. Offensive tackle is a major need for Michigan's class and Dodson will surely be one of Big Blue?s highest priorities.
Sean O'Connell: Who do you have offers from at this point?
Kyle Dodson: "I have offers from Michigan State, Illinois, West Virginia, North Carolina State, Michigan, and Ohio."
Sean O'Connell: So many people assume that most Ohio kids grew up Buckeye fans, is that the case with you? If not, do you follow for a certain team?
Kyle Dodson: "I grew up a Buckeyes fan, but that has nothing to do with where I will fit in the best and where I will choose to study and play football."

Dodson may not be the most well known OT prospect in the country but that?s changing as his film continues to make the rounds. The fact of the matter is, if Dodson played for a perennial Ohio powerhouse like a Glenville, Colerain, or Centerville he would very likely be in many of the early top 2012 player rankings. As his talents gain exposure, expect schools to begin lining up to vie for his signature. Even at this early stage he already has offers from some of college football?s elite programs such as Alabama and Michigan. Ohio State is waiting on a test score and he is getting serious interest from Auburn, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and many others. Whatever school ultimately signs Dodson, could very well lock down their left tackle position for 3-4 years.

Cleveland Heights lineman Kyle Dodson drawing interest from major colleges: Hey, Tim!
Tim Warsinskey / Plain Dealer Reporter, April 01, 2011
Q: Hey, Tim: What can you tell me about [football player] Kyle Dodson? I hear he's getting some pretty big offers. What about Ohio State? -- Laura David, Lakewood
A: Hey, Laura: As more and more college coaches see film of the Cleveland Heights junior, and after several unofficial visits this winter, Dodson's stock has skyrocketed. He's a 6-6 1/2, 315-pound lineman who probably will play left tackle in college.
During a recent unofficial visit to Michigan, Cleveland Heights coach Jeff Rotsky said Michigan coaches told him they wanted Dodson to be a cornerstone in what they hope will be a revived running game. Rotsky said Ohio State has offered a scholarship, pending Dodson clearing an academic hurdle. Dodson also has visited Alabama and Auburn and has summer trips planned to Penn State and Notre Dame. His other offers include Michigan State, Illinois, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Pittsburgh. Florida has expressed interest.
Dodson receives praise for his strength, agility and tenacity. No scouting service has rated him yet. Rotsky described Dodson as a "humble kid and a solid student."
