Oklahoma -34.5 at Kansas (ov/un 71.5) Sat 9:15 ET, ESPN2

OU 27
KU 17

halftime

Sooners had to settle for a FG with first and goal at the 2 in the last minute of the half against the mighty Jayhawk defense. I expect OU to blow it open in the second half.

I remember the days when players took protecting the ball seriously, and didn't extend it (and expose it) trying to stretch it to the goal line. Pity Broyles didn't remember those days before he fumbled at the 1 yard line and turned it over to Kansas.

Still 27-17

Sooners demonstrating why I keep them at #3 behind Bama and LSU. Even against Kansas, inside the 5 OU resorts to spread offense swing passes - soft plays - because they can't power their way into the end zone. The result has been 3 FGs.

LSU and Bama would punch them in the face. If the winner of their game plays OU in the BCSCG, bet the farm on the SEC team.

This has been the case with OU since Peterson left.

Funny, but I don't recall seeing guys stretching the ball out like that on a regular basis until this century. It's a pretty stupid risk all things considered.
