Oklahoma -15.5 at Baylor (ov/un 74.5) Sat 8 ET, ABC-Reg

With this loss, it makes it SEC vs SEC national title no matter what

1.LSU
2.Alabama
3.Arkansas

If Arky beats LSU, they will go to #2

Unless somehow, Alabama loses to auburn and whoever wins the west loses to Georiga (don't see it happening)

Unless Aurbun beats Alabama and Arkansas beats LSU, then loses to Georgia. Hey, anything is possible.

RGIII has a cannon. That game winning TD toss was a freakin' laser beam -- 40 yards, never clears 20 feet off the ground, yet drops perfectly into the arms of the receiver between two defenders. It wasn't "spectacular" because of any shenanigans or a 'holy shit did I just see that!' moment like some game-winners are ... it was just one of the prettiest throws I have ever seen in my life.

He makes ridiculous look routine. Give him the Heisman. He's guided Baylor to a 7-3 record -- this is a 3-7 team with any other QB. He's earned it. I'm sold.

I could frame it this way: I've seen Baylor on national TV three or four times this year. Baylor. All of that is because of him, and he's delivered.

I agree - he's made his team far, far better than they'd be without him. That used to be an acceptable criterion for somebody winning the Heisman, like Doug Flutie in 1984 (he was already going to win it even without the famous Hail Mary at Miami). Flutie made BC a pretty good team, when they hadn't been for a while.

Lately, it's become a 'best player among a national title contender' award. Some people want to give it to Richardson because he's the 'best RB in the SEC'. His stats just aren't good enough for an RB Heisman winner, and he stands out as best SEC RB because Knile Davis and Marcus Lattimore got injured.

RGIII leads the nation in total offense (412 yards/game) and in 'points responsible per game': 23.

Yes, add me in the "Sold" category on RGIII. This kid is amazing. He does more with less talent around him than anyone I've seen in a long time. I'd love to see the Heisman voters finally recognize a kid from a lesser team.

I watch an above-average amount of college football. I can honestly say I have not noticed a single outstanding accomplishment by Trent Richardson all year.

But remember, the Heisman voters don't watch every minute of every game - in fact, they probably watch less CFB than the average BP poster - so they rely on big game match-ups and highlight reel plays. RGIII's performance last night - 551 yards of total offense and 4 TD's against a top-5 team, with a spectacular play to win the game - will certainly help him out with the voters. So far, no one else in contention has had a "Heisman moment" to equal Griffin's.

With this play, Troy Smith won the 2006 Heisman:

Did this play win the Heisman for RGIII? Very possible.

If that move is sufficient for being in the Heisman discussion, then I humbly nominate Braxton Miller.

All that gif shows is that #21 for Ole Miss should not be in the Heisman discussion.
Agreed.

Just throwing it out there.

That's probably the best Richardson has done on the highlight reel. No thanks.

RGIII- great player and a great kid. Good for college football.

RG3 is the man, and not your typical college football player. He has the heart of a 12 year old (even now, he admits that he collects super hero toys, reads comics, and watches cartoons) but blessed with incredible athleticsm and a canon arm.

I think he definitely deserves the heisman, because the other two (Luck and Richardson) haven't had that season defining heisman moment. The game winner vs Oklahoma definitely was

He is what I hope Braxton Miller can become

RGIII for Heisman.
This. I've been underwhelmed by the Heisman field this year. I've been saying Richardson's probably the guy based on his overall track record, but nobody's really had a "Heisman Moment"...until last night. Now, he just has to not come out and melt next week...
