Could've said the same thing during the Cooper era. Pretty sure we lost more games to MSU than OSU during those 11 years. But I haven't looked that up. Knowing the competitions the Spartans usually provide, I could definitely be wrong.

In all due respect brother John Cooper is still a Buckeye and He could not beat that team up North or win his big bowl games, well he won a few and a couple against TSUN. LLLLLoyd is the reincarnation of John Cooper
I could care less now b/c those who live in the past are determined to repeat it

HTM, that was the message. TSUN supporters crowed a lot about MSU being their "real" rivalry when they were having such success against John Cooper. Now, their starting to tell us how much they love Ohio State. That would be why they think about us every day, right?:biggrin:

Well....I don't remember saying anything like that. 'Course, I'm just one of millions. But neither I, nor any of my family or any of my Michigan friends, ever felt that way. Make fun of Cooper, oh sure, all the time. But to ever say MSU would leapfrog OSU in the rivalry department? I never said it nor heard it. We beat Ohio State in order to win the conference championship and go to Pasadena. All we get out of beating Michigan State is a Michigan State fan mumbling "wait til basketball season." If the point went over my head, it's because it doesn't apply to me.

All we heard for five or six years from scUM fans was "This isn't even a rivalry anymore".

Honestly, I hope this stings as bad for you guys as the nineties did for us.

It was said. Wasn't over the entire 5-6 years at the end of the Cooper era, but it was said before the JT era started. It didn't make much since then and it never would. A rivalry is built over years of hard-fought battles, over fans hating each other and their teams and it is also built on mutual respect for each other being worthy adversaries

Actually, I remember vividly Gary Moeller saying something to that effect. I also remember the scUM players saying they "just wanted to get coop fired".

Here's to Llllloyd staying for another ten years!
