The OSU coach wants a fitting send off for a senior class that includes one of the best Buckeye athletes of all time.
The No. 2 Ohio State wrestling program has set the bar high for this weekend’s dual meet against perennial national powerhouse, No. 4 Iowa Hawkeyes. The team’s coach, Tom Ryan, has challenged fans to set an all new attendance record for an indoor dual on Saturday at the Schottenstein Center. As the final home meet of the season, this will mark the final opportunity for fans to see Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder compete on campus in his career.
Snyder will be joined in the Senior Day festivities by reigning 174 lbs. Big Ten champion and three-time All-American Bo Jordan and the reigning Big Ten Wrestler and USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week (as well as 2015 NCAA and three-time B1G champ) Nathan Tomasello.
CALLING ALL BUCKEYES: The largest indoor crowd to ever watch a college Dual was in 2013 when 15,996 attended! Let’s BREAK THE INDOOR RECORD at the Schott this Sun, Jan 21 @ 3:30. Lets send our seniors @Bobo_Jordan @Snyder_man45 @_NA_T0 out in style. #positiveinfinity

The current attendance record is held by Penn State, who hosted in-state rival Pitt on Dec. 8, 2013. According to Ryan, last year’s meet against PSU at the Shott drew 15,388 fans, just a few hundred shy of the record.
The meet against the Hawkeyes will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 21, and while Ryan would prefer that you were at Value City Arena, if you can’t be, the dual will be broadcast on BTN. In their 2016 dual, Iowa beat the Buckeyes 21-13.
The wrestling Buckeyes will still have five more regular season duals after Iowa, including one at Graham High School in St. Paris, OH (the alma mater of team members Bo and Micah Jordan).
