Ohio State Women's Tennis (2022, 2025 B1G Champs)

Since the mens and women’s team both share same facilities and cheer on each other, the dominance of Buckeye men’s tennis is noteworthy but now womens team success is no longer an afterthought.
The women will be adding the B1G tournament trophy to the showcase, while men received regular season hardware.
Taking a quick glance at the ITA rankings we discover OSU women’s tennis is ranked #4, while men’s team is ranked #6.

NCAA Super Regional

Doubles matches:
1 - Chavez/Cau (OSU) vs. Brace/Cross (LSU) LSU won 6-4
2 - Ratliff/Spencer (OSU) vs. Graham/Sahdiieva (LSU) OSU won 7-6 in tiebreaker
3 - Perry/Bereznyak (OSU) vs Di Girolami/Erickson (LSU) OSU won 6-1

Ohio State 1 - LSU 0
Just sayin': It is always a good idea to win the doubles point, especially when you are playing a very good opponent.....

In a real battle with LSU. tOSU won #5 singles, but dropped #3 and #4 so it got to 2-2 overall.

#1 singles was down 3-6, 5-6 but broke to stay alive and led in the tiebreak.
#2 singles dropped the first set 6-7 but won the second set 7-5.
#6 singles split the first 2 sets 6-4, 4-6.

So whoever wins 2 of those 3 third sets (assuming the lead in the #1 tiebreak holds) will advance. Could hardly get any closer.

Damn, the tiebreak slipped away at #1 singles so it’s now 3-2 LSU.

But both of the remaining matches have a Buckeye up an early break in the final set. Obviously they need to finish off both of those sets.

LSU advances, winning singles matches at #1, #3, #4, and #6.

It will be a 4-2 final, but the unfinished match had a 5-2, 30-15 Buckeye lead when it was stopped. It came down to losing the early lead in the third set at #6.

Well, I was there and sitting in-between Bereznyak's and Ratliff's singles courts (Court 5 and Court 3).

I'll say that Ratliff's attitude and body language stink (both in doubles and singles today), which would explain why it was 6-1 in the second.

Teah (on Court 1) was arguing every third call.

Hope the men have more luck Saturday.

Go Buckeyes.
