Ohio State Women's Ice Hockey (2022 WCHA Champions, 2022, 2024 National Champions)

Would the men's and women's programs draw similar enough crowds to use the same arena? Or is there enough requirement for ice time that multiple sheets are needed?

Not at all. The men, even when they suck draw close to 5K and for big games when they're good can draw 10K. Even the Minny and Wiscy women don't draw anywhere near that. Ideally, we'd build the Muzzinator her rink at around 2000 to 2500 and a men's rink at around 6500. I really don't see how one facility can fit them both. In an interview at one of the games, President Carter said that he sees a need for "two sheets."

I think 6500 is perfect for the men. It won't be a mausoleum when they're having a rebuilding year, and it will be a hot ticket when they're rolling.

They're so fucking jealous of our success, and it certainly doesn't surprise me that Yoko is behind it. Reminds me of how they added men's lacrosse in 2018 only after we became a nationally prominent program.

Regent Michael Behm said he found it “somewhat galling” to see Big Ten rivals Ohio State and Wisconsin play for the women’s hockey national championship last weekend. “I do think we do have the money. We do have the resources. We have the resolve to get this done,” Behm said.

Why couldn't you build a hockey arena something similar to Northeastern's design (with upper and lower levels) and just coordin or screen off the upper area (balcony sections) for the women?

We, Wiscy and Minny need to make damned sure to blackball these cheating fucks out of the WCHA. Don't give them an easy in to the Minnesota recruiting ground. Let them go play in the east coast league with the pedster women.

We do that for the men in the Schott now, and it still feels like a mausoleum. Plus, The Muzzinator has earned her own arena. Plus+, since the bottom deck will always be the larger of the two and we want to get to at least 6500 for the men, that would mean about 4500 for the women which is way too big.

If scUM starts a women's ice hockey team, that will make 5 in the B1G. The B1G will pick up the women's team at Notre Dame which would give them 6; and start a B1G Women's Ice Hockey Conference. This would result in more sports/programming for the BTN.

The B1G needs some "incentive program" to get some other B1G schools to start (and/or upgrade to) Div 1 ice hockey, etc.

The ego of that institution is a thousand miles wide but an inch deep.

US Women's National Team defeated Canada 1-0 in OT to secure 1st in their group and will have the #1 seed in the knockout stage of the world championship. Cayla Barnes and Hannah Bilka played a ton of minutes, especially down the stretch. Joy Dunne has been playing a fair amount but her minutes seemed to drop off tonight. Then again, she's just 18.
Natalie Spooner and Emma Maltais represented the Bucks for Canada, and both played extensive minutes, and played very well.
