Wife asked me for a point total for the game without going over. I said 66. She questioned it. I said “come up with your own number, then.” Then she went to bed at half time after the missed FG. She had seen all she needed to see. I told her “I can’t watch football with you, babe.”

Time to go to bed and tell her we lost.

Uh Yeah lol.... that TD they called back. That was a pretty big one. But I had said earlier no way the refs would call another Holding penalty against TCU.

That was on WR though... and it was blatant on a tackler. They also called it on Mack for another blatant hold.

But no holding calls on their Oline who were just holding on for dear life every play. No call on the Olineman like 5yds downfield on their 1st TD. No calls on their WRs pushing off on 2 big plays in 1st half... while they were happy to call Arnette for fighting blatant offensive holding...
on the whole, they got away with a lot all gme

OHIO STATE BOUNCES BACK IN SECOND HALF FOR 40-28 WIN OVER TCU

96511_h.jpg

For the first 38 minutes of Saturday night’s game at AT&T Stadium, it looked as though things might not go Ohio State’s way.

The Buckeyes hadn’t scored an offensive touchdown at that point, and were trailing TCU, 21-13, with only 22 minutes left to play in the game.

It took only four minutes and one second after that, however, for Ohio State to quickly turn the game in its favor.

After Parris Campbell took a short pass 63 yards to the end zone to break the Buckeyes’ offensive touchdown drought with 6:58 to play in the third quarter, Dre’Mont Jones intercepted a pass from TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson and returned it 28 yards to the end zone to give the Buckeyes a 26-21 lead just one minute and four seconds of game time later.

The Buckeyes would never trail again in the game.

Following a botched punt on TCU’s next possession that gave Ohio State the ball back at the 25-yard line, Dwayne Haskins completed a 24-yard pass to K.J. Hill to extend the Buckeyes’ lead to 33-21 with 2:57 to play in the third quarter.

TCU wouldn’t go away quietly. A 51-yard deep-ball touchdown strike from Robinson to TreVontae Hights, over double coverage from Kendall Sheffield and Jahsen Wint, cut the Buckeyes’ lead to 33-28 with 1:06 to play in the third quarter.

The Buckeyes responded back on their next possession, though, as Haskins capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive with a 5-yard run for the first rushing touchdown of his career to extend the lead back to 40-28 with 12:30 to play.

TCU continued to pressure Ohio State on its next possession, getting back into Buckeyes territory after Robinson completed a 34-yard deep ball to Dylan Thomas against coverage from Shaun Wade. The Buckeyes ultimately forced the Horned Frogs into a punt, though, after Dre’Mont Jones chased Robinson down for a 12-yard sack and Damon Arnette broke up a pass from behind TCU receiver Jarrison Stewart on 3rd-and-24.

Malik Harrison sealed the victory for Ohio State on TCU's next offensive possession, intercepting a Robinson pass to give the ball back to the Buckeyes – still up by 12 points – with 2:37 to play.

Miscues from No. 15 TCU allow No. 4 Ohio State to storm back for win to go 3-0 without Urban Meyer

Everybody wondered how No. 4 Ohio State would fare in their biggest non-conference test of the year that also doubled their final game without head coach Urban Meyer. As it turns out, not too shabby.

The fourth-ranked Buckeyes used a series of third quarter miscues from a pesky No. 15 TCU squad to flip momentum and help storm away with a 40-28 victory on Saturday night and move to 3-0 on the season.

Quarterback Dwayne Haskins didn’t quite look as good as he did in the team’s first two games but he eventually was able to figure out Gary Patterson’s difficult defense as the night went on. The budding Heisman candidate left AT&T Stadium with 24 completions for 344 yards and a pair of touchdowns while tailback J.K. Dobbins, playing in his home state once again, rushed for 121 yards on the ground. Fellow back Mike Weber chipped in with another 64 on the ground, many of which were runs that helped salt away the game by running clock down the stretch.

Far more impressive was the Buckeyes defense. Despite allowing over 500 yards, the group forced three huge turnovers — two for touchdowns — recorded three sacks and seven tackles for loss. Though attention in Columbus will turn to the return of Meyer next week, the status of star defensive end Nick Bosa will also be front and center for the team after he was injured in the third quarter with what was officially labeled a lower abdomen strain.

The final scoreline didn’t properly indicate how close the Horned Frogs kept his one for most of the night. Signal-caller Shawn Robinson threw for 308 yards and a touchdown (two INTs) while really pushing the tempo early in the game to catch the Buckeyes off-balance. Darius Anderson also introduced himself to a national audience, finishing with 154 yards and a pair of touchdown runs, the first of which went 93 yards along the sidelines that doubled as the longest run in school history and the longest given up by the powerhouse on the other sideline.

I also can't believe they picked up the flag on that targeting call, I could hear the hit 15 feet away from my TV.

I think the only expected part of this game was Mack dropping 4 balls. Other than that it went pretty much as a lot people predicted. Close through the 1st half and the Buckeyes pulled away towards the end after costly mistakes by TCU and wearing them down. Haskins is the best QB in the country, went 24/38 for 344 2 TD/0 Int with 5+ drops and snaps at his ankles all night.

3. Billy Davis can miss the bus to the airport. We never should have fired Luke Fickell. Haven’t seen an OSU LB crew take this many false steps and not know their assignments in my 43 years of watching OSU football.
Luke Fickell was fired? Says who? First time I've heard that.

Luke looked at other jobs before. Hell, after 2011 a bunch of idiot Buckeye fans wanted him fired. He stuck around, helped win another national championship, and left for a good opportunity.

After the way he was treated by Buckeye fans in 2012 and 2013 when the problem was clearly Everett Withers, I don't blame him.
