Game Thread Ohio State vs TCU (Arlington, TX) - 09/15/18, 8:00PM (ABC)

Pretty nice scheduling for the frogs...Friday night game TCU vs SMU. So short ass road trip and an extra day to rest and prep. Any other advantages we can give them? Maybe we could leave our Head Coach behind to make it a little more fair.

they can have the extra day of rest.

I'll take the OSU advantage in talent. Especially in the trenches.

ESPN'S COLLEGE GAMEDAY IS HEADED TO TCU'S CAMPUS FOR OHIO STATE'S GAME AGAINST THE HORNED FROGS

The appearance will mark the 41st for College GameDay ahead of an Ohio State game, putting the Buckeyes second on the all-time list of appearances per school. Alabama leads all schools with 42 GameDay appearances prior to their games. Ohio State does have a slight edge over Alabama when it comes to hosting the event on campus, with 17 College GameDay appearances in Columbus and 16 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

I have a feeling his is a big statement game. I like their QBs running abilities but as a thrower not so much.

Because of their inexperience on the OL this will be the worse OL we've faced to date and we know how we treated the first two teams.

All boils down to our OL vs their DL. They're also without their top DL due to injury as well. Just not good for TCU. Add this to now playing 3 TEs regularly and I think we have the edge here too fairly comfortably.

My only concern is stopping Turpin and stopping Robinson from running the ball.

TCU although it struggled with SMU (21 non offensive points) hasn't been tested at all yet. Although we havent been either we clearly have played two better teams.

IMO it will be a big wake up to TCU and not as much for us. Ohio State is now 2 for 2 in successfully knocking QBs out of the game and considering their youth up front it may move to 3 for 3 before the half.

We win this with a 45-17 type of score.

To me the talent advantage along both lines is undeniable so big advantage OSU there.

Offensively, styles make the fight and unfortunately for TCU they have the wrong style to fight OSU. They run the spread, read option offense that is pretty much the standard today. OSU's defense is built for, and used to, that. The recipe for hurting OSU's defense is pro style and have a quick release, highly accurate QB who can hit TE's, RB's and quick slants to receivers while under pressure. That is NOT what the TCU kid brings to the table.

OSU offense vs TCU defense will come down to Dwayne Haskins vs the TCU DC in a contest of recognition vs disguise imo. TCU knows they have to rely on their quickness and confusing the young QB. No way they can just line up man for man. Similar to JT vs Bud Foster in 2014 imo. Let us pray for a better result (and I think there will be).

OSU has better players and more of them. It may take a little while but eventually that will prove out and the final score will not be all that close.

This OL is just too big and too experienced to be confused with an odd alignment too. This offense can just do so much and these past two games has been beautiful to watch.

Want to stack the box? Fine we will throw the ball or bring in 2 TEs to rip off 6+ yards carry anyways. You can't play man on us and if you go zone Dwayne has put so many throws between defenders for scores no less. Want to blitz? Great we will throw quick outside to Campbell or throw hot to a tight end.

This offense goes a legit 6+ deep at WR, has a back up QB who is faster than any LB on the field (maybe most secondary players too), 3 deep at TE, has a OL averaging 6 foot 6 315 pounds and of course two running of the top 10 running backs in the nation.

Not to mention Day and KEVIN FUCKING WILSON running the show.

There is no weakness on this offense. None. If we get stopped this year it'll be because we got conservative and predictable. Only way anyone stops us is if we stop ourselves.

Yep I've drank the kool aid.

I've just been so impressed with out offense to just exploit what the defense is giving us. We could have ran for 300 yesterday but Rutgers stacked the box so we promptly threw for 300 yards in the rain.

I won't even go off about our defense because it's just as impressive.
