I didn't see the game because I kind of refuse to pay for BTN Plus on principle but just looking at the box score and it's clear that it was a tale of two halves.
Not much to like about the first half other than the disciplinary action by Holtmann to not start the players who were late for warm-ups.
Second half we apparently played much better on both ends of the court. Woods continues to be a steadying and inspiring contributor in these tough games, he's been quiet in some games with the the scoring but he is doing a lot of things for us, he is facilitating, and we would have lost the Creighton game and maybe even this one without him.
Another rough shooting night for CJ but for those of you ripping on him--that 6'1 and not especially athletic dude had 9 rebounds. NINE. That and the out-of-bounds play showed the effort he was still giving out there despite his struggles. He, Woods, and Kaleb had half our rebounds. Woods and Kaleb had half our points.
Andre and Kyle continued their tandem duo of total okayness at the forward spots, 7 and 5, 6 and 5, and some defense. Andre continues to turn it over too much for a guy we are not asking to handle the ball much or make plays.
Definitely a bit of a reality check for our frosh. I can't comment as to why Ledee only played 2 minutes but I am guessing defensive reasons or maybe just the fact that Kaleb was our best player tonight? Very bad shooting night for Washington. Fairly quiet night for Luther in the box score for playing 35 minutes.
And looks like Jallow was basically a non-factor in his 7 minutes.
