I'm about 6-10 beers away from being able to read that garbage. Might even make my own account, time will tell
Has nothing to do with that IMO... We just aren't throwing enough on 1st.I think you're right on 1st down. Not sure if that can be improved that much at this point. Just seems like Fields struggles with some accuracy in the short passing game.
That's also concerning because it will be needed to beat great teams with a pass rush. I think that and fuckery is why you saw almost nothing after it was 21-17. Fields is struggling to pick up blitzes and can't consistently get the ball out accurately when needed.
It's just a weakness they hopefully have an answer for. I do think it's really weird there were no screens. I assume Day just didn't feel comfortable calling them?
I mean Day's game plan would've worked to the tune of a 42-7 type game had the offense not completely self imploded in the 3rd and Fields's fumble at the goal line.We won, that's what matters. However I think the game plan wasnt ideal. Yes, if those TOs hadn't have happened the game would be different but still.
Everyone had been gashing PSU through the air and we decide impose our will against their strength instead of their weakness, why? Nearly 3 out of 4 plays were runs. Yes, some of those 22 carries by JF weren't designed runs, but that is far from being balanced.
Yes, it worked and without the TOs it would probably never been in reach for PSU, so you can say it was an effective game plan but I still don't think it was the optimal one.
