Ohio State vs Oregon 1/1/2010

Does anybody here upload torrents at a faster rate than 10 Kb/s? If so, how do you do it??

I'm using the latest Vuse software and I've set the upload rate at maximum and it won't go higher than 10. This doesn't make sense to me since TYT bans users for having a share ratio under 0.3.

So basically, the advantage of downloading fast when there are hundreds of seeders is negated because those leechers need to significantly suppress their download rate to heed the .3 requirement. The whole point of making everybody share the torrent is to make the download faster for everybody. I can easily get a download rate of 30 Kb/s with just one seeder.

Regarding those TYT Rose Bowl torrents, the 2.86 GB file is audio of Brent and Herbie, so downloader beware. Heheh, I should have noticed the .mp4 file extension before I downloaded it. I wonder what makes the 6.6 GB file on TYT so large--lots of pregame/postgame?

I wish there was a torrent of the bands' pregame performances. :(

I don't know much about Vuse. I use uTorrent - it's versatile and of the clients I've tried it seems to use the least system resources.

Also, do a Google search for "Port Forwarding" if you don't already have that set up on your machine and router.

With port forwarding set up in Windows Firewall AND on my router I am uploading at about 55 kBps (I'm seeding all of the Rose Bowl files on TYT) and was downloading them at rates between 300-800 kBps.

I've downloaded then seeded all of these files since they were released, and have seen my share ratio go from .08 to .97 in the last week. It may be a little tougher to do that with these particular files at this point since demand is going to slow down a bit, but if you want to boost your ratio you can probably download and seed something else that you don't want for a while (like an NFL Playoff game) and get rid of it when you're done.
