I was feeling a lot more optimistic about this game right before Cuse exposed us and injured Luther.
There were two clear advantages we had over Minny: the backcourt and the coach.
Now, I'm not as sure we have an advantage in the backcourt, especially if CJ, Keyshawn, and Duane keep playing the way they have been recently. Minny's backcourt is shaky and Luther could have gone a long way in disrupting them and also holding the shooting of frosh Gabe Kalscheur (basically Minny's version of Duane Washington, just has had a somewhat bigger role for the Gophers) in check.
The Gophers have an indisputable advantage at forward with Coffey and Murphy. And while we have the better offensive big in Kaleb, Oturu is a long, athletic T50 interior player, i.e. exactly the kind of guy who can make Kaleb's life miserable on the block.
Right now I am not sure playing at the Schott is even an advantage for our guys... but we still have Coach Holtmann. The main reason I'm still picking us to win is Holtmann and because I have no faith in Lil' Pitino to maximize his advantages.

i won't be happy, but i'll be content if we go 1-1 versus minnesota and illinois. not having luther is a substantial loss. afterwards, we have breathers versus bucknell and youngstown state. that gives muhammad three weeks to recuperate for a hopeful return against ucla on the 22nd. he's not wearing a sling/brace/whatever today. that's a good sign... i think.

really stupid reach by kaleb when he already has one foul. reach with 4:00 to go... not with 16:30 to go. must be much smarter than that.

if we get to the half being down by no more than 6 points after 16 minutes without kaleb, i'll consider it a win.

I’m still waiting on Jallow and Andre to really give the team a boost this year. They play good and the sky isn’t the limit for the team but unfortunately they haven’t yet.. and idk why Ahrens don’t get any burn. He may come in and make a couple shots here and there

kyle young is a player i could key on in isolation and almost never be disappointed. 100% hustle and as technical as a player can get.
