With the increased defensive activity that this team is showing, I'd say if they average only 82 pts per game that they will win 2/3 of their games this year. That will get them dancing and depending on which games they win/lose could be in the top 1/3 of the conference. I'd say we'll all take that from this young team wouldn't we?

Yeah, that's about their ceiling this year; but that's not all that bad. Currently the way that they are playing, they could very well be a "Sweet 16" team. However,.......

1) I don't know what exactly happened last year; but in Jan/Feb 2023 they went something like 1-14 over 15 games. They need to avoid something like that this season.
2) As long as Purdue has who they have on their roster, everyone else is playing for 2nd place in the B1G.

One negative. Mahaffey 0 points on 0-7 from the field, with defenders sagging off him & daring him to shoot. Dude needs to figure out how to put the ball in the hole, or else someone else should snag that starting spot. Can't have a non-scorer playing starter minutes, I don't care how good of a passer he is.
