Playing in altitude will do that to you. Im annoyed they are losing but there's alot to like so far. This game will pay huge dividends down the road

The fears about Anthony Thompson not living up to his hype are only growing though. He's been legitimately bad in this game.

The big concern is Thompson looking like he didn't belong on the floor. A large amount of this teams potential hinged on him living up to the hype and being a scorer.

Thought Jimmie Williams would be a decent contributor, he looked awful as well

2 games against lesser teams to tune up for UConn. I don't expect in any realm to beat UConn, but keeping it close enough would be a major positive.

This team definitely can't afford any bad OOC loses to the non power program teams since it's probably likely they'll be fighting for a tourney spot at the end again

Thompson will need time to adjust to the speed and physicality of the college game. I can see him being a DeShaun Thomas kind of player.

Williams looked like the speed of the game was also too much for him and he was trying to overcompensate.

Finally got to watch the game. This all tracks from what I saw. They'll take some lumps early on and we'll see if they progress. Didn't help that BYU was unconscious shooting the 3 throughout crucial stretches of the game...sometimes it didn't feel like the defense was awful, just the other team shooting the ball well. I think BYU could be a top 10-15 level team if that's what they look like for most of their games.

Obviously it was a disappointing game, but way too early to declare the sky is falling. I'll give it 2-3 more games before I do that.

I fully expect a probably not pretty L to Uconn. The "sky is falling" will come if they come out and look bad against the low-mid major teams on the OOC slate.

Yeah I'm probably not even factoring in (or tuning in for that matter) the UConn game. I wouldn't have expected much in that one coming into this season, and definitely do not after that last game. Which is fine if we just improve as the season progresses.
