Ohio State cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, left, will be available to run the 400-meter relay.

Ohio State spring football concludes today with the annual Scarlet and Gray game, but that won't stop several players from continuing to take handoffs. Coach Jim Tressel is allowing four players to run track as part of a 400-meter relay team for the remainder of the season.

Men's track coach Robert Gary said Tressel and football speed coach Butch Reynolds will supply the athletes from a pool of eight names that includes flanker Brian Robiskie, tailback Maurice Wells and cornerback Malcolm Jenkins.

Other baton-passing candidates are receivers Dan Potokar, Ray Small and Albert Dukes, and defensive backs Chimidi Chekwa and Donald Washington.
