INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Evan Turner drained a 37-footer at the buzzer to give No. 5 Ohio State a 69-68 win over Michigan on Friday in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals.

Turner took the inbounds pass, dribbled upcourt and pulled up barely past halfcourt. The Big Ten player of the year left his arm in the air after the release, confident the long shot would fall.

His attempt was so close to the buzzer that the play was reviewed. When officials signaled the shot was good, the red-clad section of the crowd erupted.

That was AWESOME. And the fact that it was against scUM, even more AWESOME. Predicting outcomes of conference tourney games is so difficult. OSU knows they are playing next week win or lose. They are playing for a better seed. UM is done if they lose. Sure they both want to win but totally different mentality. Simms played well in the 1st half and MAnny put them on his back the 2nd half. I didn't sense the urgency from the Bucks the last 6 minutes nor did I like the whining about the no-calls down the stretch. Time to tough'n up and make a run. Again, what a shot by Turner. Can't believe scUM didn't put anyone on the ball OOB or make it more difficult for Turner to catch the inbounds pass w/ just 2.2 on the clock.

Sitting at lunch having a cocktail and I kept watching the game on a distant TV, as I saw who was playing. I marveled that it was that close, and then I saw the last second shot and the players start jumping up and down. I had to leave my table and go to the TV to see that it was what I thought. :banger: Congrats!

watching on Slingbox at work on the iphone... almost screamed out loud, got up to show the replay to the Michigan fan here, and just about fell over with excitement... I'd say that's a good Friday.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game since I was at school. How did it get to that point in the first place?

Manny hit some big shots down the stretch but I thought the Bucks took their foot off the jugular a little early (were up 10 late). Got a little sloppy, Turner was forcing some things in the paint and the refs forgot how to blow their whistles down the stretch after calling OSU for 4-5 nickel-dimers the first 3-4 minutes of the 2nd half.
