Why mess with a good thing, right? [ MORE: Get Week 1 Big Ten scores & stats ] Defending national champion Ohio State will wear the Nike Mach Speed alternate uniform it wore vs. Alabama in the Sugar Bowl for its 2015 opener tonight at Virginia Tech. The Buckeyes rallied past the Crimson Tide the only other time they wore the uniform. They wore a home version of the alternate in the inaugural championship game vs. Oregon. Ohio State and Virginia Tech, the only team to beat the Buckeyes last season, close the Week 1 slate at 8 p.m. ET
