Could the Buckeyes look to the Big East for their next coach?
We know Chris Jent got an interview for the Ohio State job, and now Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg is reportedly a candidate. And now we can add another name to the list.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, the Buckeyes will meet with Creighton head coach Greg McDermott.

McDermott is a new name to the list, as he hasn’t been mentioned by any other national reporter or analyst to date.
McDermott has spent his entire coaching career in the Midwest, most recently with the Bluejays, but also with Iowa State, Northern Iowa and North Dakota State. While he struggled in his four years at Ames, he achieved quite a bit of success at Creighton, earning a 165-81 record over seven seasons, while making the NCAA Tournament four times.
Those best seasons were when McDermott was coaching his son, Doug, who was one of the best scorers in college basketball, but recruiting has been on the uptick for the Bluejays, and he’s shown he’s been able to build a program in a tough league even without him.
