Game Thread Ohio State @ That TeaX Up North - 11/30/19, Noon (FOX)

I have to confess, I haven't watched a ton of scum football, so if I'm off on this my apologies. But, I was thinking about something Hafley said:

“It allows you at times to rush three, it allows you to move them around, it allows you to put more in coverage and it takes away deep-developing routes,” Hafley said of the impact Young makes on the game. “It’s hard to drop back and sit in the pocket and throw the ball down the field on deeper-developing routes with him in the game. And then when you get into an end of the game where you know they’re gonna throw the football, I mean, you can see it. I think everybody in the stadium was probably watching him. And he came through.”

To the extent that scUM relies on the deep passing game to guys like Collins or Bell, they may as well forget it.

Why I'm expecting a lot of dink and dunk plays. This D is great at sniffing out screens but Patterson will be looking for quick hits around 4 yards and then taking off if it's not there. Much like Clifford did to his demise.

I never put too much actual 'real' thought into this game as a fan. Where I'm willing to go over more specific football talk for other teams. So here is my breakdown..

Personnel wise - Fuck em'
O and D lines? - Fuck em'
QB? - Double fuck em'
Fans? - Weasels are rodents - therefore they are rodents. Fuck em'
Coaching? - Fuck em' with a dried, twice fallen pinecone.
Stadium? - Generic and bland pile of shit. Fuck em' and the architect of said pile.
Fans? - Good and decent people. Kidding... Fuck em' most of all.

Bucks by 20.

edit: Because I can and it should never be left out. Bike Hart - Mega Fuck em'.

On paper SCUM concerns me much less than Penn State did. If the forecast is rain, then I'd be more concerned about A) the team that had a big habit of turning the ball over pretty frequently up until the latter half of the Penn State game, and B) the team with a really suspect running game. Hint: Neither of those items are characteristics of this Buckeye team.

For this game to be anywhere near close, an immense amount of fuckery is going to have to break SCUM's way and Patterson is going to have throw for something like 300 yards. On paper, SCUM just doesn't match up well with us at all imo.

With that said, I fully expect some fuckery because it's The Game. I just don't know if it'll be enough for a SCUM win.

First thoughts of the game are that I'm a little worried to be honest.

They're playing much better lately, we already have clinches the big ten east, we took coaches from them, and we destroyed them last year.

With that said they are not built to stop this years offense. They are very very thin on the DL and we should absolutely wear them down as the game goes.

As it was for last weeks game as long as we avoid the turnovers my heart says this isn't much of a game. We will not win if we give away 28 points like we did to PED.

To be honest I haven't liked the way we've played since the 2nd half of Maryland on.

Where do the pass defenses rank against which Patterson has been racking up these 300-yard games?

I love the idea of them getting arrogant and leaving Patterson in the pocket for long-developing routes.

Not only will the pass rush not allow this, but he’s throwing against a top-10 draft pick at corner, and two other draftable corners. This isn’t IU; this isn’t ND; this isn’t MSU.

Clifford’s backup was more effective against this defense. We can stop the run; it’s been proven time after time.

My concerns are offense: having time to throw, Fields making appropriate decisions in zone-read, turnovers and pass protection. I’m concerned about the pass blocking on the ouraise — namely Munford. Maybe it’s Fields holding the ball; maybe it’s a combination of him and the line but I worry immensely against sophisticated blitzes against this line.

If we can cover a little bit Shea will get hit unless he’s Houdini.

Okay, so I actually will just transfer this over like I said I would.

Ohio State has better talent and I fully trust the offensive and defensive coaching staffs to come up with effective schemes and in-game adjustments.

If Ohio State comes out fired up and executes there’s no reason they don’t win this game and they should win it by double digits.

Sloppy execution and mistakes from Ohio State will make it a closer game (assuming [strikethrough]Penn State[/strikethrough] ttun is playing well).

I'm going to go copy and paste this in the ttun game thread now.
