The Buckeyes reportedly have their eyes on another possible transfer.

With Howard guard James Daniel set to visit Columbus in the coming weeks, Thad Matta and the Ohio State basketball program have now reportedly showed interest in another transfer on the market.

Per Adam Zagoria, OSU, Texas, Hawaii, UMass, and Pittsburgh have all been in contact with former Mount St. Mary’s standout point guard Elijah Long.

With two years of eligibility left on the college level after sitting out next season, the 6’0, 180-pound Long would add not just another distributor, but also a proven scoring option to the Buckeyes lineup.

Starting 35 of 36 ball games as a sophomore, Long averaged 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal last season for the Mountaineers. His play on the court was one of the main reasons Mount St. Mary’s made it to the NCAA Tournament.

Putting up 24 points in a 71-61 championship game win over St. Francis (PA), he was named MVP of the NEC tournament to give his squad the automatic bid to March Madness.

A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Long played his high school ball at John Carroll in Bel Air, MD. Before deciding on Mount St. Mary’s, he held scholarship offers from programs such as Florida Gulf Coast, and Old Dominion.
