Nick Bosa underwent ACL surgery on Tuesday. Plus, Dexter Lawrence is set to decide next month.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are ranked third in this week's college football playoff poll, but check in at second in the mythical rankings of college football recruiting. With just three regular season games left, Ohio State is in prime position to make it back to the playoffs. The Buckeyes have a tough road ahead, but they're looking to finish strong on the field and on the recruiting trail this November.

Bosa surgery a success

As we mentioned last week, five-star defensive end Nick Bosa had his senior season ended after suffering an ACL injury a couple weeks ago. On Tuesday morning, Bosa went into surgery and it came out as a success with an expected return timetable of 9-10 months. If that holds true and there are no setbacks, it looks as if Bosa will be in line to be fully healthy when fall camp rolls around next year. With his older brother expected to depart after this season, there is one open starting spot, though there's a good chance defensive end will be anchored by Sam Hubbard and Tyquan Lewis. Nonetheless, with Bosa's talent, he will definitely see the field if everything goes right in his recovery.

Lawrence to announce in December

Five-star defensive tackle prospect Dexter Lawrence has made it apparent that he will be making his college choice on December 14 at his high school. Lawrence, the number two rated player at his position, holds 22 offers and has set up a visit to Columbus for the Michigan State weekend. From North Carolina, Lawrence has a top list that ranges from schools all over the country. However, the Florida Gators might be considered the favorite as of now with the home-state Tar Heels having to make up some ground.

As a player, Lawrence has it all including a massive frame at 6'5 330 pounds. There's no question that he'll probably shed some of that weight in college and trade it for speed and athleticism. Lawrence is a freak physically that the Buckeyes could use to clog gaps up the middle. If deciding in favor of the Buckeyes, he would definitely challenge for early playing time, too. However, right now, he's considered a long shot for Ohio State, but things can change with a good official visit in a couple of weeks.
