The Buckeyes are on the minds of a '16 commit and '17 recruit.

Business as usual for Ohio State. The Buckeyes got past Minnesota in their conference win over the Golden Gophers this past Saturday in a 28-14 effort to keep their undefeated streak alive. But even as Ohio State prepares to travel to Illinois with J.T. Barrett back from his one-game suspension, the business never stops when on the subject of recruiting. In addition's to yesterday's post (which covered a lot of the recruits that visited for the Minnesota game) the Buckeyes seem to have piqued some interest in a couple of recruits from different classes.

One of those recruits is '16 athlete Jahsen Wint. The 5'11, 186-pound Wint is currently committed to Temple, but has not shut the door on hearing from other schools while he's committed. Wint has been committed since Aug. 2 of this year and is rated as a two-star under the 247Sports Composite. He's ranked as the 163rd best athlete and the 15th best prospect at any position from the state of New York.

Don't let his rankings fool you, however, as Wint hails from the same high school that current wide receiver/running back Curtis Samuel used to attend and play football at. It's pretty obvious that the coaching staff sees talent in him, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered talking to someone that is already committed to a school. Wint has been clocked at a 4.60 in the 40-yard dash, and will likely be looking at playing safety on the next level. He doesn't yet have an offer from Ohio State, which is what could be holding him back from making any decisions as far as decommitting from Temple is concerned, but one might potentially be on the way in the near future.

The other recruit that is waiting for an offer is '17 offensive tackle Hyrin White. The 6'6, 275-pound White is just getting started in his recruitment by schools, but already holds offers from the likes of Arizona State, Oklahoma State, SMU, and is receiving interest from Oklahoma. White is rated as a three-star under the 247Sports Composite and is ranked as the nation's 44th best offensive tackle, while also being ranked as the 55th best prospect from the state of Texas.

While he hasn't yet gotten one yet from Ohio State, White is hoping to receive an offer in the future as he continues to hone his skill at the high school level. Still a junior in high school, White will also have another year of experience under his belt for next season, when his recruitment will likely pick up by a sizable amount.

An interesting tidbit about White is that he hails from the same high school (DeSoto) as Ohio State H-back and returner Dontre Wilson. There seems to be a similar theme for the players from out of Ohio that show interest in the Buckeyes as they have former teammates or alumni go to Columbus and enjoy their time as a Buckeye. We'll be sure to keep you up to date on any happenings with White's recruitment from here on out.
