One of Ohio State's top targets will be making his decision today. Good news coming?
Jackson set to decide
One program will add an elite prospect to their defensive line today as '16 DT Antwuan Jackson will be making a decision on where he will be playing his collegiate ball. According to a tweet sent out by the 6'3, 285-pounder, the teams in contention for his pledge are Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Ohio State.
The two programs that are most likely to land the four-star prospect would be the Tigers and Buckeyes. However, it's tough to get a read on whether Gus Malzahn or Urban Meyer will get that call later today. For now, Auburn is the leader on the 247Sports Crystal Ball, but predictions to the Buckeyes are also sprinkled in.
Whomever gets the Cedar Grove (GA) lineman will be adding a top-flight defensive lineman to their program. Jackson is currently right on the fringe of a five-star rating as he is the No. 55 overall player in the country. The Ellenwood native is also the eighth best DT in the country and the fifth best player from the Peach State.
Wint adds offers
Current Temple commit and '16 ATH Jahsen Wint made an official visit to Ohio State this past weekend. While in Columbus, the three-star prospect from Erasmus Hall (NY) picked up an offer from the Buckeyes and it seemed like when and not if he would make a pledge to the Scarlet and Gray.
However, since adding that offer, more programs have tried to jump in the mix. It started with Boston College earlier this week and continued yesterday. Wint added offers from Penn State and Rutgers, the program that now has Chris Ash as their Head Coach. Despite these offers, I still expect Wint to be a Buckeye, but maybe he will take a little more time before making his decision.
In-state program after Wade
Back in May of last year, Ohio State sent out an offer to '17 CB Shaun Wade of Trinity Christian Academy (FL). Just about eight months after receiving that offer, Wade decided to make a commitment to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes prior to the National Championship contest against Oregon.
Since making that pledge, Wade has taken visits to other programs such as Alabama, Central Florida, Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky. That's not to say that Wade is rethinking is decision that he made, he simply may just be making sure it was the right one.
With that being said, Wade picked up an interesting offer yesterday. According to Ryan Donnelly of BuckeyeGrove.com, Florida State sent out a scholarship offer to the five-star Buckeye commit. As mentioned above, the 6'2, 185-pounder isn't shy about taking visits, and with the Seminoles being an in-state school, one would expect that Wade would give them a look. This will be an interesting recruitment to follow until NSD 2017 rolls around. The Buckeyes will have to fight off many top schools to keep him in the fold.
