The Buckeyes are the latest to offer 2017 DE Zachary Carter, while 4-star OLB Daelin Hayes sets an announcement date.
The Ohio State football coaches have been busy this week, hitting the recruiting trail head first. The Buckeye coaching staff was all over the country Monday, with coaches traveling to Florida, Virginia and Maryland.
With news already being reported that the Buckeyes would be visiting four-star RB Adarius Lemons, out of Clearwater, FL, the Buckeyes had a lot to do in the Sunshine State. Four-star DE and Florida native, Zachary Carter, announced that he had officially received a scholarship offer from Ohio State on Monday afternoon via Twitter.
The 6'5, 240-pounder is currently rated as the No.5 SDE in the class of 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Carter is one of the bigger defensive linemen recruits for the Buckeyes, but possesses a surprisingly quick burst off the line. Solid against both the run and passing game, he has a knack for getting to the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage and is as sure of a tackler as there comes.

Carter would join four-star DT Jerron Cage on the 2017 defensive line. That follows a strong haul in the 2016 class, which includes the likes of five-star DEs Nick Bosa and Jonathon Cooper and four-star DT Malik Barrow.
Daelin Hayes to announce Dec. 10
Four-star OLB Daelin Hayes will be making his decision on where he will play in less than two weeks. Hayes is the No. 8 OLB in the class of 2016, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, and will likely choose between Notre Dame, Michigan State and the Buckeyes.
I will be announcing my Commitment December 10th at 12:30 p.m.

The Buckeyes have been recruiting Hayes for a while now, and the 6'4, 225-pound backer has become one of the school's biggest recruits, being at a position of need. Hayes would be just the second linebacker in both the 2016 and 2017 classes to become a Buckeye, joining only four-star '16 OLB Tuf Borland.
Hayes is strong at the OLB position and has good acceleration, giving him the ability to quickly attack the ball carrier. Stronger against the run than against the pass, he can drop back into coverage when need be, but he is more likely to disturb an opposing QB by providing constant pressure, more-so than tight coverage.
