Could Urban Meyer be close to flipping another committed prospect?

When recently asked what an Ohio State offer would mean to him, longtime Temple commit Jahsen Wint told Land-Grant Holy Land, "It would mean a lot because it would show that I'm underrated by many. I want to be a part of a winning program who works hard and earns what they get." Fast forward nearly a month, and the three-star standout now has the opportunity to line up for the Buckeyes.

After visiting Ohio State over the weekend, Wint, a Brooklyn, New York native and former high school teammate of current Buckeye Curtis Samuel at Erasmus Hall, earned a full ride scholarship offer from the Ohio State coaching staff after being on their radar for quite some time.

"I got to see a hard working program, and a beautiful campus. I wanted this offer to show how underrated I am, and that city kids play good football," he said.

Although the OSU offer was one the defensive back has been out to get, he didn't leave Columbus as a member of the Buckeyes' class of 2016, but that could soon change. Wint tells Land-Grant Holy Land that he would like to make his final choice some time over the next two weeks.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the 5'11, 185-pound Wint is currently considered the 142nd athlete, and 2,017th overall prospect in the class of 2016.

Corley, Haskins visit

Wint wasn't the only class of 2016 prospect to check out what Ohio State has to offer over the weekend. Urban Meyer and crew also played host to wide receiver Donnie Corley, and current Maryland quarterback commit Dwayne Haskins.

Corley, a four-star prospect from Detroit Martin Luther King High School, has been on the Buckeyes' radar for quite awhile now. With offers from the likes of OSU, Michigan State, and Notre Dame, and only weeks until national signing day, his latest trip to Columbus could be the one of the last times the staff will have the opportunity to secure his pledge.

While things with Corley are unclear one thing is for certain: the staff is looking to add a quarterback to the 2016 class. Even before Tristen Wallace's flip to Oregon, Ohio State has showed attention to a couple of signal callers, including Dwayne Haskins.

Committed to the Terrapins since May, Haskins has been considering suiting up at another college ever since the latest coaching staff turnover at Maryland.

Even though neither Corley or Haskins left Columbus as a Buckeye commit, their recruitment is definitely something Buckeyes fans should keep a close eye on. Keep checking Land-Grant Holy Land for the latest.

  • One time Michigan State pledge Hunter Rison, the son of former MSU & NFL wide out Andre Rison, received an offer from Ohio State on Friday. A four-star receiver from Skyline High in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Rison is starting to pile up offers from programs from across the country. Alabama, Arizona State, and UCLA are just a few of the other schools after the 5'11, 185-pound junior.
  • You win some, you lose some. After being thought as a near one time lock to join his former Liberty County (GA) teammate Raekwon McMillan at Ohio State, five-star class of 2017 athlete Richard LeCounte announced his verbal commitment to recently hired head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs over the weekend.
  • On Sunday evening the Ohio State football program offered class of 2016 running back Daryl McCleskey of Huber Heights Wayne a preferred walk-on spot. A Special Mention All-Ohio selection, McCleskey, who accounted for over 1,300 total yards and 16 touchdowns, currently holds scholarship offers from Duquesne, Malone, and Ohio Dominican.
