A quiet Monday, but an offer sent out to a top linebacker recruit as well, despite him being committed to Oklahoma.

It's been two weeks since the start of the college football season and Ohio State has lived up to its number one ranking on the field thus far, against Virginia Tech and Hawaii. Now they'll play host to Northern Illinois on Saturday, but until then, the Buckeyes will be getting the job done off the field as well.

Though it was mostly a quiet day for recruiting news, Ohio State still sent out one new offer. The Buckeyes sent out an offer to '16 linebacker Bryce Youngquist. Though Urban Meyer and his staff already have one linebacker in their 2016 recruiting class ('16 linebacker Tuf Borland), they have come away impressed with Youngquist enough to give him an offer, despite currently being committed to Oklahoma. Youngquist has been committed to the Sooners since the end of July, but that didn't stop Ohio State from trying to make a connection.

As of now, Youngquist has offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Fresno State, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, San Diego State, Tennessee, Utah, Washington State, Wisconsin, and is receiving interest from UCLA, USC, and Vanderbilt.

Youngquist is a four-star prospect under the 247Sports Composite ratings and is ranked as the nation's 12th best outside linebacker and the 28th best player at any position from the state of California. The 247Sports Crystal Ball also has Youngquist listed as an Oregon lean, which is odd considering his commitment to the Sooners. However, it doesn't appear any predictions have been made since he committed, so you might see some changes as far as that is concerned, especially now that Meyer is involved.

In addition to the information above, be sure to check out his highlight video below as well:
