The Walsh Jesuit alum will have three years of eligibility remaining.

During last month’s early signing period, Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer tap danced around questions about how many scholarships were available for the traditional February signing day. Meyer’s hesitance to answer was in part due to the Jan. 15 NFL Draft declaration deadline, but also because of the possibility of current OSU players transferring.

Today, Buckeye offensive lineman Jack Wohlabaugh announced that he would be transferring to continue his playing career at Duke. After completing his redshirt freshman season, Wohlabaugh had yet to see the field for the Scarlet and Gray.

The Cuyahoga Falls native came into OSU as the 30th best offensive guard recruit in the 2016 recruiting class, and the 18th best player in Ohio. After sitting out a year, he will have three years of eligibility remaining in Durham.

The exact number of scholarships remaining for the 2018 Buckeyes is still in flux as the NFL deadline looms a week-and-a-half way. However, Meyer and co. have already secured two National Letters of Intent from 2018 O-lineman Max Wray and Matthew Jones.
