Top-Seeded Ohio State Defeats No. 4 Illinois to Advance to Finals

Ohio State earned a 4-0 victory over Illinois on Saturday to earn a spot in the Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament championship. The top-seeded Buckeyes picked up the doubles point after wins at Nos. 1 and 3 and won three singles matches in straight sets to claim the victory. Matt Allare won at No. 4 while Blaz Rola won at No. 2 and Chase Buchanan clinched the match with a win at No. 1. . . .

Third-seeded Minnesota defeated No. 2 Indiana, 4-0, on Saturday to advance to the Big Ten Tournament championship match. Wins at Nos. 2 and 3 helped the Gophers claim the doubles point and singles wins at Nos. 1, 5 and 6 gave Minnesota the match. Brendan Ruddock earned the first singles win for Minnesota at No. 5 while Tobias Wernet followed at No. 1. Julian Dehn clinched the match at No. 6 to push the Gophers into the finals. Minnesota will take on top-seeded Ohio State at Noon CT on Sunday.

The Big Ten Chanpionship match will feature the #3 Ohio State Buckeyes vs. #19 ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The finals will be televised by the Big Ten Network on tape delay.
It may be monitored by fans Sunday at 1 pm et on Wisconsin Livestats

According to the Livestats info the match is being played outdoors at Nielsen Stadium.
Last year's match was delayed several hours because of rain and attempting to move the production (cameras et. al.) indoors for the videotaping by BTN.
