This team is incredibly frustrating to watch. There’s a lot of talent. The defense is as good as its ever been in Columbus. But there’s no denying that they are a bit sloppy. I’ve not had a lot of time to write about the games this year, and I’ve only missed watching / listening to one... but they seem to put themselves in a bad spot with unforced errors and mental mistakes. Today, being one down at the end of the game with possession and going offsides is a perfect example... I have to guess Nick is frustrated with some of the sloppiness too.

@ORD_Buckeye, IMHO they played above expectations last year. I think the team last year was a bit of a perfect storm of very good senior talent (Fannell, Pearson, Withers, Pfister and Carey) who left some big shoes to fill, some young guns who played exceptional as freshman and a team chemistry that is apparently hard to duplicate. Looking at what was coming back, I expected a better season than what we’ve seen so far, but can understand how they are where they are. Just in what we lost with specialists (Withers on the draw and Carey in cage), that’s got to account for a big portion of the difference alone. Probably another difference maker this year was Pearson graduating. This has put a lot of responsibility on Tre to score. They need another really big gun out there with Tre to keep the defense honest. That was the beauty of last year’s team... they had a lot of scoring options in personnel and in terms of _how_ they put the ball in net.
They are young, and there’s apparently a switch in cage that seems to be working, but they have to clean up their play and find an offensive identity.
But yeah, today was just really hard to watch. Take nothing away from the Domers, they played well, but I am more inclined to say that this game was lost by the Bucks as opposed to won by ND.
They have to clean it up or there’s going to be one bumm’n locker room before the spring football game. Those SOBs up north are putting together a real team now that they sent coach Paul packing. I knew that would happen once he was let go...
