Ohio State Men's Lacrosse (2013 ECAC Champions)

Consider the ship righted. Michigan next week is another must-win (mostly cause everyone in the league has to beat them to even sniff the B1G tournament). But this weekend was a good one for us. UMD beat PSU so that puts us right back int he conversation considering we get the Terps at home.

Carey gets the game ball for me. We didn't need him to stand on his head, but he made the saves he needed to to keep our lead and stabilize the defense.

Yeah, but I take the game ball away for throwing a clearing pass, while 30 yards above GLE, right into Stanwick's stick for an empty netter.

I'm sure he wanted to shit after that play.

Good. The offense is back clicking again. Now we've got to win one of the next two against UMD/RU and we can breathe easy knowing we made both tournaments... or win both and take the whole f-ing conference.

What I saw today was an immature TSUN defense getting taken advantage of in almost every facet of the game, and the face off unit completely dominating. On O, Shooters had their hands free way too much to consider this a good competitive win. Very few shots were really contested... and for the most part, their defense spent the day ball watching like a U11 team. They were late to slide, they didn't come out to contest shots (FFS, I'll have to go back to find the play, but there was a shot that the tsun pole ducked on a step down leaving the goalie high and dry as opposed to charging the shooter with a stick in the face... they are an immature piss poor defense), off ball guys got way too free way too easily, and they didn't double for shit. Don't get me wrong, there are few things in my life that give me as much joy as crushing the soul of that program... but they're really not up to D1 varsity standards yet. Frankly, they are Cleveland State level, and CS is in their first year of varsity ball. Six years of recruiting and having what they have to offer as a school and a program? There's no excuse for them to be this bad... today, we played a bad team and handled them exactly the way a top-10 team should have.

That said, there were at least three clear attempts or faceoffs where we tried to push the ball because we had numbers where we threw shitty passes right into the head of their poles. We have to clean that up. I'll have to go back to look, but my money is on the downfield player not making good v-cuts to get a clean passing lane. My feed was blury at best as I was riding in the hills of North Carolina.

Today was a day to pad the stats book. This was the lacrosse equivelent of going against a RichRod defense and a Brady Choke offense in football. They have a long way to go before they compete in what is now B1G lacrosse.

Either way it was a glorious reminder to those fuck-sticks and their coach "not ready for prime-time Paul" that they should have stayed as a club program.

Cannot wait to fuck their worlds again next year in the Shoe. Our young roster will mature and they've got nothing showing signs of rising to the occasion.
