Thanks for the heads up, this will be one of the few I can attend this year. Always love the road games.

No prob, I think I will get tickets as well. Last year for the Indiana game, I got a very nice 3 1/2 star hotel for $48 at the IND airport for the night of the game. Will prob do the same this year for the Ill game or get a 2 star in Danville for the same price but much closer. Good hotel prices for IND Airport hotels on hotwire.com and is not a bad drive (about 2 hours) from there to the U of Ill. Just waiting for gametime to see if I need the hotel the day before or the day after.

Thankls, Hobbit. I was just about to start a thread asking for everyone's advice while planning a trip to this game.

I talked to a client of mine in Champaign. He said historically ticket prices for the upper level for most games go for $20-$30. I'm sure they don't drop that low when we come to town, but I'm curious if they usually stay at the $60 face value (which is the same price for the better seats).

For anyone who has experience buying tickets to a game out there, since face value is the same regardless of the quality/location of the seat, do you think we'd be better off to just order our $60 tickets now in the lower section? Or do you think we'd have luck waiting for a little bit to see if the upper section seats go down around $40?

Other questions:
-What sections are designated for visiting fans, if any?
-Has anyone been successful getting more than 4 seats in a row? We will have at least 6 in our group, probably more.
-What hotels around campus do you recommend? We will probably get in to Champaign Friday, head to some bars that night, and do it all over again before and after the game Saturday. So the closer to the stadium and the bars, the better.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give an away game noob. We just want to make sure we do things the right way. I'll hang up and listen.
