The Buckeyes 2018 class may be down a man.
The 2018 class has yet to play a snap at Ohio State, but it may have already lost a member from the 26-man, second-ranked recruiting class. Per reports from the New Castle News, New Castle, Pennsylvania safety Marcus Hooker was arrested on June 16 for driving under the influence, careless driving, underage drinking, and five other related charges.
Hooker, of course is the brother of former Buckeye safety and current Indianapolis Colts player Malik Hooker. Marcus arrived on campus just a few weeks ago, along with all of the other freshmen that didn’t enroll early, and all things indicate that he had been going through summer workouts like the rest of the team up to this point. However, Hooker was not on campus this past weekend, as the reports indicate that he was arrested in Pennsylvania.
It’s unclear right now if Hooker will remain on the team, or what the punishment is going to be from urban Meyer and the program. It’s well known that Urban has had a very low tolerance for arrests while at Ohio State, and if the cases of Tracy Sprinkle, Carlos Hyde, or J.T. Barrett are an indication, Hooker will likely be suspended indefinitely, until more information becomes available.
Land Grant Holy-Land will have more information on this developing situation as it becomes available to us.
