If the student body can get it down, I wouldn't be surprised to see much of the entire stadium getting involved by the end of the season.

Seems like something - much to the dismay of the debby downers out there - like the wave that everyone can and will be a part of.

A lot of people say this looks forced but 'The Hive' was the same thing. If they put the right music to it, it will look cool.

IMO, its not just "getting the students involved" sort of thing. Its a way to increase the noise and the fan involvement. We talk on here weekly that there people that go to both football and basketball games stay seated and gripe when you stand up in front of them to cheer on the team. That or people that just wont show up at all. Its a good way to fill the Shoe during a "down" year and also get people comfortable with getting up, moving around and being loud to cheer on the team.

If it looks corny - so what, at least fan/student involvement will be up even more and our stadium could be that much louder.

I like the quick cals but I think it will end abruptly when they try this out on Saturday. And what I mean by that is that they do the quick cals and then.......what? I say if the players are already in the south end zone why not just turn around and do the hive with the students doing it with the team in the background.

They already have that for the actual Block O section in the south stands (and north stands now as well I believe) and that is where it is most noticeable when the top half is empty at kickoff.

The student sections with assigned seats aren't noticeably empty at kick off most of the time except the upper parts of C-deck from time to time. I'm not saying they aren't half empty, you just can't tell as much.
