The Buckeyes enter the ring for a pair of top 2018 prospects.

Before you can suit up for Urban Meyer and the Ohio State football team, you have to earn a scholarship offer from the coaching staff. Over the weekend a pair of top prospects reportedly received their chance to roll with Meyer and the Buckeyes after adding OSU to their offer lists.

To get the weekend started, Ohio State dished out a scholarship to class of 2018 wide receiver Justyn Ross (Phenix City, AL / Central) on Friday night.

Ross, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound playmaker adds the offer from the Big Ten power alongside chances to play at programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida and Florida State.

An Under Armour All-America selection, Ross, who hauled in 38 receptions for 663 yards and eight touchdowns last season after bouncing back from multiple knee injuries, is currently considered the fourth wide receiver and 31st overall prospect in the class of 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Even though it was previously reported that Thomas Booker (Baltimore, MD / Gilman) held a scholarship from OSU, the four-star rated athlete formally announced his offer from the Buckeyes on Saturday morning.

With nearly 20 full ride scholarship offers on the table, Booker is a hot commodity on the recruiting trail. With quite a few decent options, Ohio State, Michigan and Maryland are just three of the schools off his list of potential landing spots for the 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end.

Quick Hits

  • Per multiple reports five-star offensive tackle Jackson Carman and four-star defensive end Malik Vann, both 2018 recruits from Fairfield High School, were among the prospects to visit the Ohio State campus on Saturday.
  • Four-star class of 2018 defensive tackle Michael Thompson tells Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts that he plans to make it back to Ohio State in the spring. No stranger to Columbus, the Missouri native made the trek to the 614 twice last season to see the Buckeyes in action.
