Ohio State @ Dayton, Oct 22, 2023, 6 PM ET, Bally Sports Ohio

In the midst of the patented Holtman dry spell. Up 52-43 with the ball and UD has now tied it at 52. Poor possessions, bad turnovers, missed shots. And they still don’t know what to do with a full court press.

Terrible def rebounding leading to open 3s
Can't handle full court press
At least 1 major dry spell

The Holtmann experience!

Agreed. Alot to like especially amongst the newcomers

The rotation is definitely going to be interesting. Bonner is a menace defensively, but I’m not sure what to expect on offense. Middleton looks super skinny out there — maybe some instant offense if he can find his stroke? Royal and Mahaffey seem very similar — undersized PF guys that aren’t going to do much offensively, but will scrap in the paint. Who knows with Chatham?

I think Thornton is going to have a big year! OSU needs him on the floor 30+ minutes every night. Gayle will hopefully pick up where he left off. Battle’s stroke looked sweet tonight — if he can be a consistent shooter from 3, that will be huge!

And then Key and Okpara can hold down the paint. If a key can knock in some jumpers, I wouldn’t hate to see them on the floor together in stretches, especially against some of the bigger B1G teams.
