Banks comes to to OSU from the Indianapolis Colts.

Today, Ohio State basketball coach Chris Holtmann announced the hiring of Quadrian Banks as the program’s new strength and conditioning coach.

Banks most recently worked for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, but previously served as the director of athletic performance at Gardner Webb University, were Holtmann coached before moving to Butler.

Of the hire, Holtmann said, “I am very excited about the addition of Quadrian. He is an elite strength coach and has extensive experience working with athletes at the highest level... He is high-energy, knowledgeable, committed and thrilled about being a part of The Ohio State University.”

Banks has previously worked with four other NCAA men’s basketball programs, beginning with Texas’ 2003 Final Four team. Throughout his career, Banks has also worked at the Universities of Richmond and Mississippi, as well as with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Banks said, “My family and I are extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to join the Buckeye family. I look forward to getting to work."

Considering that OSU’s basketball roster is currently on the disturbingly thin side, Banks will have his work cut out for him to get the team’s nine players ready to physically withstand the increased minutes in the traditionally bruising Big Ten.
