The Buckeyes used the longball to outslug the 16th-ranked Owls in Columbus.

Ohio State baseball put a beatdown on a nationally-ranked team on Wednesday in Columbus, using three home runs to pick up a 10-2 win over No. 16 Florida Atlantic.

Seniors Nick Sergakis and Troy Kuhn and redshirt junior Jacob Bosiokovic all had homers in this one, helping power an offensive attack that reached double digit scoring for the 10th time this season.

With Tuesday's game being cancelled due to weather, both teams had a full complement of pitchers and didn't hesitate to use them. All total, 12 players took to the bump in this one.

Senior Daulton Mosbarger started the game for Ohio State, and gave up two runs in four innings of work, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out five. Mosbarger was relieved by redshirt sophomore Kyle Michalik and didn't factor in the decision.

Michalik picked up his second win after throwing two scoreless innings. He was followed by sophomore Seth Kinker, senior Michael Horejsei, and redshirt sophomore Yianni Pavlopoulos, who combined to toss five shutout innings.

Mark Nowatnick took the ball to start for the Owls and didn't survive the third inning, allowing four runs on four hits in taking the loss.

The first big knock of the game in the bottom of the third courtesy of Sergakis. After Tre Gantt doubled, Jalen Washington was hit by a pitch, and L. Grant Davis walked, the Buckeyes' senior co-captain strode to the plate with the bases loaded and nobody out. On a 2-1 pitch, he took Nowatnick deep over the 370-foot sign in left-center for a grand slam, his eighth home run of the year.

Craig Nennig followed Sergakis with a double off reliever Nick Swan and came around to score when Kuhn launched his first longball of the season to extend the lead to 6-0.

Troy Montgomery bunted his way aboard to continue the inning, stole second, and crossed the plate with the seventh run of the inning on a single up the middle by Gantt.

FAU responded in the top of the fourth, scoring a pair of runs off Mosbarger. A walk and a double put runners in scoring position for Christian Dicks, who delivered a two-run single to trim the lead to 7-2.

Ohio State added a run in the bottom of the sixth when Washington was hit by a pitch for the second time, this one courtesy of Colyn O'Connell, and eventually came around to score on a bunt single by Nennig.

After Kuhn was hit by a pitch by Owls' reliever Robbie Coursel, Bosiokovic then got into the act in the seventh, driving one the other way over the right field fence for a two-run home run and a 10-2 advantage. It was the his team-leading 11th homer of the season.

The bullpen arms of the Buckeyes were rock solid, yielding just three hits as a unit to hand FAU the loss.

Ohio State has its final weekend home series coming up beginning Friday against Michigan. The Big Ten series will have major implications on the Buckeyes' conference tournament hopes. Friday's lid lifter is scheduled to get started at 6:35 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on BTN Plus.
