Ohio State will play in the late game.
Earlier today, we learned that you don’t need to win a conference championship to make the College Football Playoff, as the Buckeyes grabbed the No. 3 seed, and will face the Clemson Tigers in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl. The winner will face the winner of the Alabama/Washington game in the Peach Bowl ... so basically, Alabama.
Now, we know when Ohio State will kick off, so you can figure out your New Year’s Eve plans now.
Ohio State and Clemson will kickoff at 7 p.m. ET on December 31. Alabama and Washington will kickoff at 3:00 p.m. ET.
One one hand, that might be tougher for Ohio State fans, with that night being New Year’s Eve and all, but if the game isn’t going to be on at the party you’re attending, why are you even going? At least this way, the Buckeyes will get that prime-time focus on themselves.
No matter what time the game kicks off though, this should be an excellent battle.
