Ohio State 3-1
? Matchup to watch: Virginia Military Institute is averaging 83 shots from the field (nearly half of them three-point attempts) and an NCAA-best 102.2 points, so the Keydets like to get up and down the floor. Ohio State has had some trouble defending in transition. The Buckeyes could play four guards and try to match up man-to-man instead of with their zone.

IMO Lighty and Deibler have to show up and be the stars we all want them to be this year. They need to learn to play against the competition. KK has to learn to score against big men. They all need to learn how to rebound.

VMI can score some points. They always bring tough kids, no matter what the sport, so they don't give up easily. I think they also have a 7 footer for the first time in the history of the academy, don't know anything about him though. I re watched most of the A&M game, our shooting was horrendous. Rebounding was about as bad but, they did have two thoroughbreds down low. This is a good game to get back to improvement for the young kids. We all know who's coming to visit Wednesday....

VMI is a running and shooting team. OSU beat them 107-69 last season in a game in which VMI attempted 47 threes and 86 shots total, making just 26 (30%). Both teams committed 24 turnovers.

OSU shot 30-39 (77%) from two-point range.

VMI will dictate the tempo, but OSU should win easily. It could be close if OSU turns the ball over a lot, has another poor shooting night, and VMI shoots very well. I' ll be interested to see (errr....hear....Damn you BTN!) what defense Matta throws out there. I don't imagine it'll matter much, since there probably won't much much chance for OSU to even settle into their defense before VMI shoots.

Agree, also that if it turns into a run and gun game then Lighty and Deibler should shine imo because that is more suited to their games game

Deibler needs to get things going. I could have shot as well as he did against Texas A&M. No joke. I know that sounds like an exageration, but I literally could go 0 for 9 from the field. I'm sure I could with the appropriate warm ups.

Come on, Deibler!!! I watched the High School playoffs last year, and I know you have a better shot than we've seen!!!
