Ohio State 75, Florida 84 (final - NC Game)

Apples and oranges. The team was very green at that time...even if Oden had been healthy I don't think they had the mental game to win against UF. That's changed a little bit now.:wink2:

As stated above in my last post

Oden's been in foul trouble pretty much all tourney, and every game someone talks about how "this is the game we can't afford to have Oden in foul trouble". I'm starting to not buy it.

You don't have to buy it. They weren't playing the Gators!

This was my statement:
Happened once before

This team is almost just as good without Oden as with him . Without him they are much quicker. G'town couldn't handle our 4 guard offense. Haven't you noticed that when Greg sits the tempo gets faster, we start running, and get transition baskets a lot more ?.
I stopped listening to that talking head crap a long time ago.

Georgetown has/had nowhere near Florida's team speed. IF the Bucks get some calls on Florida's hacking game, IF Horford isn't allowed to bull doze his path to the bucket, IF twigs can keep Noah from running wild...

Florida was very impressive last night, they're fast, even the big guys, especially Noah, can get after you and out hustle you and they have tow guys who can kill you with threes...

but then what chance was UCLA given? Falaffle... or Alfalfa... Awfulla... was on the bench for all but the first eight minutes and no more came in and picked up his fourth.

and yet Florida was whacking away at people and not getting called for it.

There is no way the foul calls were evenly distributed.

Absolutely, I spent the whole game wondering how many push offs that weren't called on Noah. And as long as they don't call them he will keep doing it. I did see them call 1, that's a joke.

Few things I want to say, but I'm not going to bother quoting...

First, PlanetGator didn't mean you guys want to be Gators, he means what college team would not want to win NC's in football and basketball and be in the position to repeat in bball. That's a lot different than wanting to be Gators. If you wouldn't want to be in that position, then why are you on here talking about how much you love your team?

Secondly, Nothing pisses me off more than those million people that in last April started wearing Orange and Blue or on Jan 9th went out and bought a Gator hat. Yes there are true UF fans that are obnixious, but the majority that are rude and disrespectful are those ban-wagon fans. They have nothing intelligent to say about the team, so they have to go that route to say anything.

As for the t-shirts saying "the past is the past" or whatever, thats about OUR program. In case you guys don't know, Florida basketball pretty much sucked before Billy came to town (that might be a bit harsh, but we didn't come close to any NC's), we had the run in 2000, then nothing for 5 years. To Gator fans, the past of our program is the past and these 5 and BD are the present and what we are concentrating on...just like Ron Zook (who I hate more than probably anyone out there) is the past of our football program and there's no need to talk about him bc our future is here with Urban Meyer. We aren't forgetting the past, Spurrier still won us a NC, we had several very good players go on to the next level, etc; we just do not need to talk about how great we were 20 years ago because we are pretty damn great right now. That doesn't mean Meatchicken didn't have a great run in fb back in the 40's (i think?) or USC hasn't been very good the last few years, Duke's and North Carolina's past dominance isn't significant (bb obviously), or any of the other dynasties that have happened over the years, it simply means we are egocentric. What school's fans aren't?

Noah is passionate, he celebrates pretty much everything. Here's a link you guys will love if you haven't seen it http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/6612068 I don't see him celebrating as being disrespectful. If you do, then I guess we will have to agree to disagree bc you won't change my mind, and I'm sure I won't change yours. I think just about every school's fans disrespect him: someone here has him dancing in their signature, Tenn has a whole thread of super-imposing his head on random people's bodies (Michael Jackson and Tonya Harding among others), the announcers on TV make fun of his scream and chest thumping, Auburn's board had tons of stuff about him when we were playing them earlier this year, etc. He may make himself look stupid (he's one ugly dude, how can he not?), but as long as he keeps doing for our team what he has been, no Gator fan will mind. It will make everyone else hate him more, which in turn gets he even more excited and pumped, which equals more yelling and chest thumping... Again I'm asking you (and the rest of the world) keep hating him and our team, its just more for the bulletin board.

Finally, I do think tomorrow night will be a lot better then the game in Decemeber for many reasons, we all know them so I'm not going to waste anyone's time. I do think if Oden is in foul trouble tomorrow night it will hurt you more than against most other teams. We have more depth with our bigs. We have three that play almost constantly with a fourth that has come in off the bench during key stretches in games. I don't want to get in a flame war, but I just don't see you guys having enough bigs to compete with ours, especially if Oden has to take a seat. But as the saying goes, only time will tell.

Go Gators!

True, both teams are different now. Again, I don't think if Oden gets in early foul trouble that OSU will hang with the Gators. Just my opinion but OSU won't come back from a 17 point deficit at the half as they did against Tenn if they fall behind Florida. I think it will be a great game and you couldn't ask for a better scenario than this Go Gators!!!

Twigs was out with his groin injury too the last time, wasn't he? We were really overmatched with Oden injured, Twigs injured, and Hunter had very, very little experience.

This is a different team since Conley "took over" after the loss to Florida in December, and everyone is healthy.

Absolutely a different team. That is what is our Hope. We have a great team now.
