Game Thread Ohio State 56, Miami of Ohio 10 (Sept 01, 2012)

I would imagine that local bars are privately cheering for a windy and rainy day. Not to deter the fans who are attending the game, but to encourage "indoor tailgating"

We'll fill the stadium and the bars, regardless of the weather. I don't know what the fuck you do down in Athens, but that's how we do it in Columbus.

I understand your thought-process, Woof, but South is right. Once you get to a certain number of people, more people does not mean you can make more money. And with the places that have outdoor areas to hang out, they will make more money before, after, and during the game if the weather is nicer. About the only thing that the bars can hope for to make even MORE money, is if there was some kind of emergency where people HAD to stay on campus through Saturday night and maybe into Sunday. Zombies, or something, might be such an emergency.

I thought Ohio State didn't play Penn State until Oct 27th?

Works for management, but not for staff. Zombies are lousy tippers.

Exactly. Unless the Schott suddenly opens a thunderstorm/booze shelter during games, the rainy day locations are already packed.

For the big games there are 0.3-0.5 million people attending the game without tickets. Before kickoff, Texas was practically one big, mosh pit for a few miles in any direction.
