I really hate how far off of the receiver our DBs play when they are at the line of scrimmage. Get up on them and get in their jersey....

Thinking this as well. Lots of cushion on a 3rd and 2

Pretty sure Coach Coombs and Withers want them off the LOS so they can make more plays. I'll be honest, I wasn't too pleased to hear of this initially, but I'll hold my opinions until at least 6-7 games in

If they are going to play that way, the d-line needs to be in the QB's face. I don't think that's the strength of this d-line right now.

I'd like to see the offense get some confidence right here. Couple completions in a row or a couple 5 yard runs.

It has to be based on the offense you are playing against. When you are playing a team that has quick read and react throws then you just can't play that far off the receiver.

shooting for too many plays 10+ yards from the LOS just hit them for 5 and let the skill players try to break a tackle.

Like said, nothing is working on offense. Our Line is getting worked too.

But first game, against a MAC team. We just need to wake up

I do recall a 2-0 halftime score against Akron a few years ago and we ended up playing LSU in the National Championship game.....

We also got our asses beat that game.

Hopefully this is just jitters. Once we get a good drive going, I think this team is going to be fine.
