Yes, your unending Diebler tirades are a beacon of honest, productive debate. Funny how you had nothing to say after the syracuse game... here I thought an osu fan would be interested in praising a much better outing for a growing team. Instead, your sole purpose on BP is to call out Diebler.

Because Cook & Conley left OSU pretty thin in reliable starters. This argument is absurd, both are inconsistent at this point. You might prefer Turner's brand of inconsistency, but it still is just that.

Anywho, I don't want to get into another pissing match with whatever issues you may have with Diebler. This is a young team and there will be growing pains... last night was a huge pain for the whole team, not any one individual.

Say what you want about rebounding or defense, last nights biggest problem was on the offensive end. KK and OH's numbers will struggle against good teams if there is no perimeter attack. When the back up center has made more three pointers than the starting shooting guard there is a huge problem.

I have never used the ignore feature on this site, not even for Tibor...But I am pretty close to using it...
But my thoughts on the game...
Lighty played great the first 2 games of the season, but really struggled the last 2...
I think that we are going to see more like the first 2 than the last 2...We showed in the first game that if Lighty does struggle, that we are capable of winning, but we are really going to need Lighty to have solid games game in and game out to take us where we want to be...
I am saying this because we are going to have to assume that Diebler, KK, Turner are guys that are going to have to ups and down all season, but we need steady games from Lighty...You could also add Hunter to the category where we are going to have to need steady players...
With that said the reason we lost last night was 2 reasons...Rebounding and not shooting the ball well at all...Probably the worst shoooting game that we will have all year...24% is about as bad as you can possibly be...
We are out of position at times rebounding and just not strong enough to get some of them...Lauderdale is our best rebounder but he is a liability on offense.
With all that said I think this game is better that we got our asses kicked that lost a close game...Great teaching tool, we got whooped on by a vetran team, and coach can use that to his advantage and teach these guys things that they need to get better at to play at level and above...

You can say its the 4th game of the season, so how many games will it take for this to become an issue? 5? 10? 2 years? Even on layups where he is fouled he misses, he should have had quite a few and 1's if he finished strong.

Well, maybe because you have personal vendetta against Diebler for some reason that I don't know or give a shit about. FYI- Diebler has played 4 college basketball games. Thats 4 (Four in case you don't know the Arabic number system). A total of 109.2 minutes on the floor. Less than 2 hours of college basketball. Yeah, I have eyes, I know he is shooting like shit. I know you saw him in high school, because he probably beat your weak-ass team by 50 and thats why your here to begin with, so you know that he will heat up again just like we do. I don't know how much our team has practiced this year, but I am damned sure its a hell of a lot longer than 2 hours. And in all that time, Matta and all his assistant coaches (including Groce, who will be a head coach somewhere very soon) seem to think that not only should Jon Diebler be starting, but he should be playing 3/4 of the game. So I am going to go with their decades of combined basketball experience over your 4 game stat lines.
I assure you that EVERYONE on this forum would love to see Diebler averaging 30 points 15 rebounds and 15 assists per game. But he is a freshman who played in a very weak high school conference and is not used to this level of competition yet. I am going to keep stressing this obvious fact that you are choosing to ignore- his basketball IQ is too high for him to continue playing like this. And thats why he is going to continue to start over Evan Turner, despite the fact that ET did indeed shoot 1-1 on Friday night.
If your not going to post anything productive about Diebler, can you please just leave? Cause honestly no one wants to hear you sitting there bashing a Buckeye because of some personal vendetta against him, its really annoying and nothing you have said is at all insightful.

Well, had we shot decently, I see that outcome being closer, if not, the other way around. I love Thad, and I know nothing was his fault really. They just weren't making shots, and A&M was. As long as we beat UF this year, I'll be a proud Buckeye fan. I see us finishing second or third this year, depending on how well Eric Gordon makes it for the Hoos.
We'll right a far from wayward ship, probably finish in the 24-7 range. Koufus is doing better than I thought he would, and Butler is doing what we all knew would be a phenominal senior season.

A young team got schooled by a veteran team. The shots were there, they just didn't fall. The 2 guard position is not my biggest concern. My biggest concern at this time is rebounding.
