The Buckeyes are doing what they can to get the St.Louis star.

A third visit?

Class of 2018 defensive tackle Michael Thompson (Saint Louis, MO / Parkway North HS) has made it apparent that he wants to visit Columbus, Ohio once more, which would mark his third total visit to Ohio State. Thompson has held the Buckeyes in high regard in his recruitment thus far, and it looks like Ohio State will continue positive momentum in this recruiting battle.

Thompson checks in at 6-foot-3, 290 pounds and is a true run-stopper. He is a top 100 player in the 2018 class in addition to being rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle. Larry Johnson has taken the lead in this recruitment and he has the Buckeyes in a good position as we head into the winter/spring months. As always, it will be a tough battle to pull a recruit from out of state. However, Ohio State is positioned well enough to make a run for Thompson and will most definitely be pushing to land the four-star prospect. There is no reasons that would indicate this recruitment will be over soon. At the moment, Thompson has 17 offers that include Missouri, Arkansas, Michigan and Iowa.

To the West Coast

Staying in the class of 2018, four-star safety Jaiden Woodbey (Upland, CA / St. John Bosco) told reporters that Ohio State will remain in the list of his top schools throughout his recruiting process. Woodbey, who stands at 6-foot-2, is the No. 32 overall player in his class in addition to being rated the No. 3 safety. There’s no question that Ohio State will be a major player in this recruitment, but USC and Washington will provide stiff competition. Ohio State has recently loaded up in the defensive backfield and Greg Schiano and Urban Meyer will look to make sure that trend continues in 2018. Woodbey holds 19 total offers that includes UCLA and Alabama, according to 247Sports. Look for the Buckeyes to try and get Woodbey on campus before his senior year starts.

QUICK HITS

Long-time running back target Cam Akers released his final six schools that he will be considering and Ohio State did not make the cut. The Buckeyes should be wrapped up at the running back position for 2017 with J.K. Dobbins in the fold and not likely to waiver on his commitment.
