Game Thread Ohio State 37, Penn State 17 (final)

I happens, it sucks but it does happen and it happens quite a bit. Yearly the Chargers/Raiders game has hundreds of people taken away in handcuffs, and that's in San Diego, no idea what it's like in Oakland. I have never understood where the mentality comes from, fans don't play for the teams, they support them, these are sports teams, not gangs or anything that should ever come close to that.

It's disgusting, stupid and taking away a lot of the fun of going to a game. I don't mind going and seeing jawing back and forth, or trash talking, that's all good natured, but some people just take it too far.

Really though, what can you do about it? No drinking at the games? Stop tailgating? All of that takes away from a lot of the fun that goes with the games, tailgating is a past time, having a few beers when you go to a sports event isn't required but let's be honest here, football is a really good excuse to drink.

Being allowed to tailgate and maybe talk a little trash doesn't excuse these people from acting like idiots. If they can't handle being allowed to drink and tailgate and do that without acting like Soccer fans, then something has to change.

I'm all for someone having a good time and enjoying a brew or 3, but if you do that and then pull stunts like these retards did, the administration of the school will have to step in.

I have to say that the "kid from Pittsburgh" is pretty smart for running up behind someone, assaulting them and then putting his face right in front of the camera so he can easily be identified and arrested. I agree you can't lump all fans in with a few dickheads, but I have to say if that was a buddy of mine I would slapped him in the back of the head and told him to stop acting like an ass. Classy fans should at least try to keep the idiots from making them all look bad.

It is pretty sad that you can't go to an away game anymore without being worried about what might happen to yourself or family.

I love this one. It's like Todd's scanning the CB's and Safeties and thinking, "Yeah you're the little bitch I'm going to beat with this pass"

In lieu of going back through this thread or Beanie's thread to see who asked about the writing on Beanie's wrist tape, but it appears to be a tribute to one of JT's close friends who has an assistant coach with him at a previous school...Musburger mentioned the guy's name during the game (Hunter?)...

I could be jumping into this a little late, but I was pissed at the video of the penn state fan violence. As a matter of fact, I sent an email to their university president to do something. The penn state newspaper has run an article on the event here: Fan violence flares - The Daily Collegian Online

By the way..if you have facebook like I do, the article does give what they believe to be the name of the guy filming all of it, Gaetano Sacco. He's also apparently the vice prez of the frat. I have to say, it's very hard not to send him a message telling him he's a disgrace. I'm hoping others would do it for me.
