Game Thread Ohio State 24, Michigan State 17 (final)

Why is that? It shows that their defense can be moved upon by a shitty MAC team at home. If Buffalo can score 24, no reason why we can't...

Buffalo's not as bad as they used to be and what if someone said, well if MSU scored 17 on OSU why can't we?

1. An improved Buffalo still sucks (3-5 with two 30+ point losses)
2. Because the MSU offense didn't score 14 of those 17 points

Exactly, see what just looking at a final score can do in skewing actual results of a game?

I looked at the game stats for Buffalo at Penn State. Buffalo scored all of their 24 points on offense, and had 339 yards passing and just short of 400 yards total offense against the vaunted Penn State defense.

And how many of the passing yards were against PSU's scrubs?

Again, I agree with you but just saying that you can't just look at a box score and get the entire picture.

If you think the team that played against Buffalo is going to show up against us, you're mistaken.

I can get enough of a picture to tell me that if Buffalo can ring 24, even against a lot of PSU's bench, that our offense should be able to match that even against PSU's first-stringers.

How many points did the YSU, Akron, and Kent State offenses (comparable-level foes) score against our "scrubs" combined? That's what I thought...

The score of that game was also 3-3 with about 3-minutes to go in the first half. Buffalo turned it over twice spotting PSU two TDs, and missed a FG.

That 45-24 score is misleading. Buffalo picked apart PSU's secondary and defensively made Kinlaw and Austin Scott look like Beanie and Saine.

From a film study perspective, Buffalo/PSU is worthless.

I could also say, our offense ONLY scored 20 pts against Akron, meaning they must suck.

You can skew it however you want.

Believe whatever you want Mili.

I have seen them play Illinois, Wisky and IU with my own two eyes and PSU's pass defense can be exploited. They have a very solid pass rush but coverage by the back 7 is average.

I agree, my point was that judging PSU'd defense off of the Buffalo game isn't probably the best wayto gauge them.
