Purdue has played us tough over the last decade (six games) because they didn'tplay us when we had our juggernaut teams (1997, 1998, 2005, 2006). The other six years they played us (1999-2004) we were either mediocre overall, or in the case of our 2002 NC year, or simply had no offense and had to win purely on defense. Our defense this year is far better than any of the 1999-2004 teams with the exception of the 2002 defense, and our offense may be better than any of those teams. So, in reality, "recent" history means squat right now.
