More announcements to come from the Big Ten.

On Monday, the Big Ten Conference unveiled their 2017-2018 all-conference selections as voted on by the coaches and the media. As a result of the Ohio State Buckeyes’ remarkable turnaround season, OSU is expected to pick up some conference post season honors today.

First, forward Keita Bates-Diop was unanimously selected to his second All-Big Ten team, following his honorable mention honor during his sophomore campaign of 2015-2016. This time he was named to the Big Ten’s first team.

Coming off of an injury-plagued season in which he only played in nine games, Bates-Diop responded by finishing second in the B1G in terms of points per game with 19.2, and tied for second in the conference in total rebounds with 8.9. The red-shirt junior actually led the conference in defensive rebounds (7.5/game), but Minnesota’s Jordan Murphy edged him out via offensive boards, since Bates-Diop is not predominantly an inside player on offense.








As part of their “BTN Live: All-Conference Selection Show,” the Big Ten Network will announce individual awards— including Coach and Player of the Year— and more of the all-conference teams shortly, and we will have those results as soon as they are made official.
